Programa de Diseño: Esucela Elemetal: K-6, (250 estudiantes) 12 salones académicos, Salones de Educación Especial, Kindergarten, Arte y Computadoras, Cafetería, Cancha techada, Biblioteca, y Administración.

Recursos ECOLóGICOS/SUSTENTABLES: Proceso de diseño con la participación de la comunidad académica. Arquitectura pueblerina con techos a una y dos aguas para integrarse al contexto urbano. Currículo ajustado a la arquitectura y tecnologías ecológicas utilizadas. Solución en pabellones para mejorar ventilación e iluminación natural (solo 25% de las instalaciones tienen acondicionamiento de aire). Geometrías rectangulares con orientación axial hacia Este/Oeste. Uso extenso de patios interiores. Bandejas de iluminación. Chimeneas de Iluminación. Ventanas de Clerestorio. Tragaluces longitudinales de vidrio doble con cámara de argón y cara exterior selectiva. Mayor área de ventanas en cara Norte que en las restantes. Iluminación artificial fluorescente. Cisterna de AAA y cisterna para cosecha de aguas de lluvia. Reuso de aguas grises en patios vegetados. Vistas al exterior en todos los espacios de trabajo y uso académico. Pinturas interiores sin compuestos orgánicos volátiles (VOC's). Colores interiores y exteriores con reflectividad mínima de 75%. Pavimentos reciclados en área de juego. Techos naturados en cuartos de controles fotovoltaicos. Emplazamiento urbano para promover el acceso peatonal a la escuela. Parada de guaguas y estacionamiento de bicicletas como parte del diseño para promover el uso de transporte público y alterno. Planta terciaria de tratamiento de aguas usadas mediante sistema de avenamiento por evapotranspiración sin el uso de químicos tóxicos. Techo de hormigón con paneles de aislación de dos pulgadas y cubierta metálica para mitigar particulado en cosecha de aguas de lluvia. Generación de 40% de electricidad mediante sistema fotovoltaico. Calentamiento de agua mediante paneles solares. Equipos de juegos y mobiliario urbano de meterial reciclado.

Architects versus Project Managers

A man in a hot air balloon realized he was lost. He reduced
altitude and spotted a woman below. He descended a bit more and shouted, "Excuse me, can you help me ? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am."

The woman below replied, "You're in a hot air balloon hovering
approximately 30 feet above the ground. You're between 40 and 41 degrees north latitude and between 59 and 60 degrees west longitude."

"You must be an Architect or Engineer," said the balloonist. "I
am," replied the woman, "How did you know?" "Well," answered the balloonist, everything you told me is technically correct, but I've no idea what to make of your information and the fact is I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help at all. If anything, you've delayed my trip."

The woman below responded, "You must be a Project Manager." "I am," replied the balloonist, "but how did you know?". "Well," said the woman, "you don't know where you are or where you're going. You have risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise, which you've no idea how to keep, and you
expect people beneath you to solve your problems.

The fact is you are in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but now, somehow, it's my f**king fault.

ARTSTAR posits the following question: can the complexity of making new works of art be successfully presented in a traditional hour-long television series format?

ARTSTAR is the first-ever unscripted television series set in the New York art world. Selected from this open call, eight artists will have the opportunity to participate in a group exhibition at Deitch Projects, and may have a chance to land their own solo exhibition with Deitch Projects. ARTSTAR will document these eight artists as they interact with leading critics, collectors, curators and artists in New York, while making new artworks as part of a historic collaborative exhibition at Deitch Projects.
