Hubo un tiempo en que éramos felices y alguien, algún alcalde, nos mandó unos contenedores rojos para depositar periódicos, plásticos y botellas. Era de lo más civilizado asomarse a la calle el día que pasaba el camión por el barrio (miércoles, creo), y ver los depósitos rebosantes colocados ordenadamente por cada vecino, y saber que a pesar del consumo desenfrenado, todo aquello podría reutilizarse (...)

"Paper figures depicting the leaders of the G8 countries are placed behind the controversial security fence surrounding the resort in Heiligendamm, northern Germany, where the G8 summit will take place. The action, which took place on Tuesday, May 22, is a protest against the upcoming summit organized by the Green party. "It's absurd that 'democracy' needs a fence around it to protect itself from the people," said Claudia Roth, co-leader of the Greens, said. According to police, demonstrations will only be permitted within five kilometers of the welded-mesh fence with prior authorization..." (Deutsche Welle)

"Designer and artist Arnd Drossel gave a sneak preview of the wire sphere he plans to climb into and walk 300 km (186 miles) across the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia on Wednesday to raise attention for people suffering from mental disorders. Constructed out of 250 bent stainless steel rods, the sphere weighs about 120 kilograms (265 pounds)..."

"Wie sich das Leben in einer Blase anfühlt, erkunden diese beiden "Zorbonauten" am Sonntag (6.5.2007) in Bulgariens Hauptstadt Sofia. Sie stecken in so genannten Zorbs: große elastische Kunststoffbälle mit doppelter Hülle. Darin rollen die Zorbonauten mit Geschwindigkeiten von bis zu 50 Km/H einen Hügel hinunter. Das sei absolut ungefährlich, heißt es, denn die Zorbonauten sind von einer 70 cm starken Luftschicht umgeben, die sich zwischen ihnen und der Außenhülle befindet..."
